This page will contain links to pages about southern-based organizations addressing physical and social needs in the south.   It will focus primarily (but not exclusively) on organizations who approach these challenges from a religious perspective, or organizations whose leaders came out of religious traditions.   It will also include other non-religious southern-based organizations who played a significant role in addressing the social conditions of southerners as well as northern-based organizations who addressed the physical and social needs of people living in southern states.
